Using the meter to test reinforced concrete

The TDS9092 card computer gives the concrete tester:

  • port expansion with two PCF8574 chips
  • digital potentiometer control
  • serial 32 segment LCD driver control
  • 128 x 64 G1216 graphic display drive
  • 32k bytes none volatile storage of logged results in a 24WC256 EEPROM
  • serial 12 bit A-D chip operation
  • analogue switch arrays
  • downloads to PC or serial printer
  • dual keypad scanning

The SCRIBE CPM combined Logging Cover/Potential meter

The SCRIBE CPM combined Logging Cover/Potential meterThe Triangle Digital Support TDS9092 card computer is the heart of this instrument. It is used for quality control of new construction work or to survey unrecorded existing structures to assess structural integrity.

It can also to locate bars prior to other tests such as core drilling. In None Destructive Testing (NDT) of reinforced concrete structures, existing and new, two of the most frequent measurements made are Depth of Cover over the reinforcing bars and Half-Cell Potential on the surface with respect to the reinforcement. Half-Cell potential measurements enable detection of areas of corrosion of the reinforcement, and also indicate rates of possible corrosion. The Scribe CPM instrument is unique in being the only combined Logging Cover and Half-Cell Potential Meter on the market.

Other unique features include:
  • dual LCD displays, a large 4 digit backlit display of readings and a 128 x 64 graphic display for menus, on screen guidance, viewing windows of stored results in geographic form etc.
  • dual inputs and controls for left or right hand working.
  • refillable silver/silver chloride mapping electrode. The instrument accuracy is better than BS1881 and conforms to ASTM 876.
